An epigraph is a stand-alone quotation used at the beginning of a book chapter or other work to set the stage for what follows (APA, 2020).
The use of epigraphs in Morling Education assignments is not recommended. Rather, the academic-writing skill of writing in your own words and embedding in-text citations and quotations appropriately into paragraphs is encouraged.
Generally, quotations should be employed sparingly. More on Quotations here.
