Introduction to Chaplaincy

Chaplains Without Borders was founded in 2004 to initiate new ventures into corporate and community organisations, and CWB grew to be Australia’s largest chaplaincy service within 2 years. They work across religious borders, as well as borders of "place."

The NightWatch Chaplaincy is committed to ‘watching out for you when good times go bad’ in the night-time entertainment precincts, on weekends, overnight. Our team members recognise that people matter and commit to serving all of those who participate within the precincts. Our services are undergirded by an approach that is chaplaincy-based, which means that our major concern is the wellbeing and dignity of each person.
This is a volunteer chaplaincy organisation.

Corporate Chaplaincy Australia was established by Deana Salvarinov in Perth, to support, nurture and empower employees in the workplace. Corporate Chaplaincy Australia allows for the care of employees through individual and personalised support services.

Our Bush Chaplains fulfil a role that most people would struggle to do. Visiting people on properties for a cuppa and a chat, they are often on the frontline for identifying issues. They lend a sympathetic ear and can refer people to other service providers as appropriate. They provide practical, pastoral and spiritual support to those in need, including farmers and miners.

Life Saving Chaplaincy Australia operates in association with Sports Chaplaincy Australia and aims to serve all life savers and their families in Australia. Surf Life Saving Australia was the first sports governing body to endorse Chaplaincy at the 1998 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships

Coming from a variety of Christian backgrounds, Mission Australia’s chaplains support our staff by offering a listening ear and gentle guidance around religious, spiritual, personal and ethical matters. Mission Australia’s clients may also request the support of our chaplains.

Police Chaplains are available from various denominations in each jurisdiction. Their primary role is to provide spiritual and pastoral care to police and their families during times of distress whether that be from a traumatic work situation, family and relationship difficulties or crises care. Chaplains are also often available to conduct police weddings, christenings and funerals.

Sports Chaplaincy Australia is the national sports network for chaplains serving clubs and communities around Australia in sporting codes like football, cricket, netball, AFL, V8 Supercars, NRL and many other sports. SCA is a not-for-profit charity empowering chaplains to work in and through local sports clubs and communities.
