This Guide is a starting point for Chaplaincy resources and research. This will be valuable as you begin your studies, and is a resource you can refer back to throughout your time at Morling.
For guidance on writing and referencing, please see our Academic Writing and APA Referencing guides; for information on assessment requirements, please see our General Requirements for Assessments guide.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your lecturer, or contact library staff.
To search for books and eBooks in the library please use the library catalogue.
Physical books may be found in our Sydney or Perth campuses. Some books will be available in both locations; others are only available in one campus library. If necessary, we are able to transfer books between campuses. We can also scan chapters, within copyright restrictions.
Physical books appear in the catalogue with a blue book icon. Hover over or click on the title for more information. The first thing to check is the Branch. Morling College Library has two branches:
In Sydney, a book will usually be in one of the following Collections:
In Perth, a book will usually be in one of the following Collections:
Within each Collection, books are arranged by a call number (Library of Congress Classification in Sydney, or Dewey Decimal in Perth). To find a book, you need to know the Branch, Collection and Call Number.
Please come talk to us in person if you need help finding a book on the shelf.
We have several eBook platforms, and they each show up in the catalogue with a different icon. Anything with one of these icons is an eBook: Every eBook will have a direct link in the library catalogue. Hover over or click on the title for more information, and click on the "View Resource Online" button or the URL to view the eBook directly.*
Most eBooks will ask you to log in with an OpenAthens account; new students should receive activation and login details by email at the beginning of semester. eBooks on Perlego or Wheelers use platform-specific logins - you can register for Perlego through the link on Moodle, and for Wheelers on the platform directly.
If you have any problems logging in, please contact library staff.
*Please note, this is different to the Google Preview button.
This Zotero bibliography lists chaplaincy resources, including a whole range of topics and formats. Note that this bibliography is very US-based, and the library may or may not be able to provide access to resources listed.
